His talents are enriched by interests in historic preservation, product design, and travel. Michael is involved in every stage of a design project from concept development to unique art placement. The most rewarding aspect of each project is his ability to transform the client’s distinct vision into a timeless and functional space that exceeds expectations.
Pattern Inspiration
I am passionate about mid-century European design and have been an avid collector for most of my life. The soul of the pattern is inspired by French decorative arts of the 1940s, particularly the tapestry work of artist Jean Lurcat. I felt the hospitality market lacked fabrics that exude an organic whimsy with a timeless sophistication. I wanted to create a pattern for LebaTex that could be colored to complement a wide range of environments, from seaside retreats to energetic urban spaces.
