The line between "commercial" and "residential" looks continues to fade, expedited by the WFH situation over the past 18 months. In its place, "Resimercial Design" has quickly risen, obliging to the majority's wish to maintain a feeling of home wherever they may be.
Resimercial design allows us to mimic the beloved areas of our homes such as cozy dens and lively kitchens, while still being suitable for work and travel. This can be done by incorporating tactile textures, materials and accessories that evoke a sense of warmth, comfort, and familiarity. Details such as ambient lighting, durable wovens, and soft yet refreshing patterns are no longer strictly reserved for home design. Color palettes are predominantly neutral with swatches of light and calming colors to curate a space that feels lighthearted, friendly, and familiar, just like a home away from home.
